Ballhaus Naunynstraße and Brunnenpassage
Shermin Langhoff is the artistic director of Ballhaus Naunynstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg. She was born in Turkey and moved to Germany during her childhood. From the 1990s she worked as a film producer. Langhoff has initiated and conceived various major theatre productions and film festivals that foster the exchange and interaction between different cultural expressions and traditions. As artistic director of the theatre Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, she created a unique platform of post-migratory cultural practice. Frequently working with Second and Third Generation Turkish-German artists, Ballhaus Naunynstrasse presents innovative plays and performances addressing a wide range of social, political and cultural issues.
KunstSozialRaum Brunnenpassage is situated in Vienna's 16th district on a busy street market called Brunnenmarkt. Its goal is to encourage people from different nationalities, of all ages and with varying socio-cultural backgrounds to engage in community arts projects together. Cultural variety enriches every society by highlighting different perspectives and ways of life and questioning individual as well as social preconceptions. In order to foster mutual understanding and learning from each other we offer a wide range of activities for active participation as well as numerous performances and events.
