Working visit heritage Nonja Peters (AU)

Visiting guest in the framework of the International Visitors Programme for Heritage is mrs. Nonja Peters, director of History of Migration Experiences (HOME) Centre at Curtin University in Perth, Australia.

Mrs Peters is a historian, anthropologist, museum curator and social researcher with a special interest in the preservation of immigrants' cultural heritage, in particular Dutch maritime, military, migration and mercantile connections with Australia since 1606; the migration experience and immigrant entrepreneurship.

She is currently involved in academic and community based research in all these fields. She has been awarded the Centenary Medal and Dutch Knighthood for the preservation of immigrants' cultural heritage.

Australia-The Netherlands Heritage day
On 21 February the Australian-Dutch heritage day took place in Fremantle Western Australia. On June 14th a similar Heritage Day will take place in the Hague on the bilateral relations between Australia and the Netherlands. This event will be organised by the Centre for International Heritage Activities.
