Mediterranean Crossings goes Brussels

In the framework of Gegoten Lood #2, SICA and HIVOS organise a public meeting on cultural developments in the Middle East since the Arab Spring.

Artists and journalists from Egypt, Iraq and Syria speak about the circumstances they were working in the last couple of years and how the uprisings in the region influenced their ambitions and possibilities.

Invited guests are a.o. Iraqi filmmaker Mohamed Al-Daradji and Hamdy Reda from the Artellewa Art Space in Cairo. Petra Stienen will moderate this session. She is artistic leader of Mediterranean Crossings programme, writer and a former diplomat in the Arab world.

The programme Gegoten Lood #2 (Cast Lead) is a fusion of art, theatre, politics and debate that takes place from 9 to 28 November on the Oude Graanmarkt in Brussels. Artists, scientists, journalists, activists, bloggers and twitterers react on and from the Arab Spring.
